In the modern culture three ways to remembering "sites of memory" are co-existing. They are the bitter way of loss, the spiral staircase of glory and the pursuit of healing balm. The article provides a vastly different material about Russian psychology. The history of two centuries is divided into the three periods; moreover, for each period the processes between history and memory are thoroughly analyzed.
